How Does An Electronic Cigarette Work?
It looks so real, but doesn’t use fire. So, just how does it work? While an ecig in use looks like one simple piece, it is actually several parts inside that are needed to make it work.
There is a rechargeable battery which has a led light on one end. This led light serves a couple of purposes. It is used when charging the battery, and may have a specific rhythm of flashes to tell you if charging has started or is completed.
Secondly, the battery lights up when the user inhales on their electronic cigarette. This representative glow has been made to look like fire which is quite cool – but it can now be found in many different colors which is even cooler. As it begins to glow, the user knows to expect immediate vapor delivery.
The other end of the battery often screws into the atomizer, and supplies the energy needed to gently warm the concoction inside the cartridge. That concoction is like a thin watery gel. When a user inhales, it triggers a heating element which begins to warm the gel.
As the gel warms, the atomizer has a whizzing like mechanism which assists in turning that gel into the slightly warm vapor.
When the user inhales, he might hear a slight gurgling noise. This is from the atomizer breaking down the liquids into the vapor.
Vapor is inhaled, and nicotine is carried in the vapor – much like it would be carried in the smoke from a cigarette. E-smokers actually refer to their smoking as “vaping.”
When the e-smoker stops inhaling, the battery knows to go back to standby and the led light will gradually dim to off.
Cleverly, the e-cigarette really does satisfy a smoker beyond the basic want of nicotine. The need to physically hold something, the delivery of nicotine in a familiar way, and the PG vapor that looks like smoke really make it a more than acceptable experience.
